To sustainable the adopt research and development
(R&D) of green computing and technology, something must be making up in
this field. Firstly, R&D for quality of product, this R&D will present
the new innovation of green computing and technology that we know before this,
green computing and technology has a lack of quality. By that the life
expectancy of this product will be longer than before research and development.
The lack of quality happen because this green computing and technology has take
up rapid technology change.

CURRENT ISSUE IN MALAYSIA - 4G LTE
4G LTE
INTRODUCTION
4G is the name commonly used for the 4th
Generation mobile network, and it represents a faster mobile network
service than 3G, which is the 3rd Generation mobile network. 4G
LTE officially launched in Malaysia earlier this year (2013) with limited
coverage and support. Maxis launched the
4G LTE service in Malaysia first, offering speeds up to 75 Mbps, followed by
Celcom, and then DiGi. Recently, TM (Telekom Malaysia) has announced its step
towards being a 4G LTE provider in the near future.
FACTOR TO ENCOURANGE THE 4G
To secure 4G uptake, operators should ensure they
get the basics right, and manage expectations in terms of coverage and speeds.
4G is likely to be successful if advertised speeds are reached and nationwide
roll-outs are completed in time, or preferably ahead of schedule. Operators
will need to strike a balance between underwhelming and over-selling, as there
may not be any single new killer app in 4G which 3G cannot deliver. What will
differ markedly, however, is user experience, and as a result duration and
intensity of usage.
BENEFITS OF 4G
HSPA+ (evolved HSPA) has a theoretical peak download
rate of 168 Mbps and is technically classified as 3.75G, the step right before
4G.WiMAX has a theoretical peak download rate of 128 Mbps.LTE is all the hype
right now, with a a theoretical peak download rate of 100 Mbps (By the way, 4G
LTE is technically 3GPP LTE). While its theoretical speed is lower than the
above, in practice, 4G LTE is actually faster.
The 4G LTE is similar in speed to some fiber to the home broadband plans
in Malaysia. The ‘True 4G’ that actually
meets the standards is now known as LTE Advanced, with a peak download speed of
1 Gb/s (that’s about 10 times more than the current LTE). Maxis, DiGi, and
Celcom are offering 4G LTE services in Malaysia.
CONCLUSION
The ability of 4G to deliver more data at faster
speeds suggests the service will thrive in 2013. 4G subscriber numbers are
likely to triple as compared to 2012, reaching around 200 million globally, as customers
take advantage of improved email services, sharper images and faster browsing.
In response to higher demand, and falling chip-set
prices, the number of 4G devices will rise fast, with lower cost pre-pay
handsets encouraging adoption.
GREEN COMPUTING - CLOUD STORAGE
CLOUD STORAGE
Defination.
Cloud storage
means,”the storage of data online in the
cloud”.It really refers to saving data to an off-site storage system that
maintain by third party.Instead of storing data to the computer’s hard drive or
other storage device, the data also can be save to a remote database. The
connection between your computer and the database must be provide with
internet.
Types of cloud storage.
Personal Cloud
Storage.
Also known as mobile cloud storage that applies to storing an individual’s data in the cloud and providing the individual with access to the data from anywhere. It also provides data syncing and sharing capabilities across multiple devices.Example:Apple’s iCloud.

sharing notes or updating important documents.
v Bandwidth.
If
the internet connection is slow and you are trying to download Gigabytes of
data,it would takes you a long time to complete the download.
v Storage
limit.
It
is not advisable to put a very large files into your cloud storage.Cloud
storage is usually limited.Service provider would only give you only a few
Gigabytes of available storage space. You will have to pay more to have more
room and it may be a limit on the the limit on the size of data that can be
stored.
v Being
intercepted
There
is always a change that the files will be intercepted as the file move from one
place to another. This may occur because of a malware problem with the computer
or may happen further down the line.

CURRENT ISSUE IN MALAYSIA - ELECTRIC CARS
INTRODUCTION
Electric cars are a niche in the automotive industry,
and have been trying to gain a foothold in both sales and popularity in recent
years. Recently, electric cars have become available for purchase in Malaysia.
In 2012 Budget, the government chose to offer a full exemption on import
tax and excise tax to support electric vehicles until the end of 2013.
Unlike traditional combustion engines found in a
huge majority of cars on the road, electric cars forgo the need for petroleum
and use electricity instead. Not only does this make electric cars cleaner, but
it also means that they simply don’t need much of the regular maintenance that
traditional cars require.
Electric vehicles utilize rechargeable battery
packs, which are energy efficient and environmentally friendly. While this
seems to be a big step in the right direction for the automotive industry,
electric vehicles still have a long way to go before they are seen on the road.
THE ROLE OF ELECTRIC
CARS IN MALAYSIA
Malaysia is still a
potential market where electric vehicles might gain widespread acceptance, but
manufacturers need to be tactful and play it smart if electric cars are to gain
popularity among the masses.
The first electric car
to be launched in Malaysia was the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, which is packs a pretty hefty price considering that it
is a hatchback. Even though potential owners get to enjoy a full tax exemption,
the i-MiEV still sits at RM136,118.50 without insurance, which is roughly
equivalent to the price of three Proton Sagas.
Although Mitsubishi managed to be
the first one to introduce electric cars to the Malaysian market, by the way Nissan
weren’t going to sit back and watch Mitsubishi claim the lion’s share of the
market.
In November 2013, Nissan launched the
Leaf, which is became the second all-electric car to grace Malaysian shores.
Local automotive production company Proton is
also reported to be dabbling in the electric car market. Paul Tan’s automotive website reports that Parliament
stated Proton will be releasing electric cars in 2014
THE ADVANTAGES OF ELECTRIC CARS
1. Fuel Economy
One of the biggest
advantages of electric cars is fuel economy. Those who drive gasoline-powered
vehicles are often concerned by the miles per gallon that their car gets. With
battery-powered vehicles, however, the concept is different because these cars
run on batteries. Electric vehicles are measured based on the miles they can go
on a fully charged battery.
2. Battery Limitations
While electric cars are much more energy efficient, their batteries do
not allow them to go more than 100 to 200 miles on a single charge, while a
gasoline car can go upward of 300 miles on one tank of gas. The battery also
takes a significant amount of time, four to eight hours, to fully recharge.
While an electric car eliminates the need to fill up at the pump, it does
require charging, which adds to the owner’s electric bill. It is important to
understand this when thinking about fuel economy savings with an electric car.
3. Performance
When testing an
electric vehicle for the first time, many drivers are often surprised by its
smooth performance. There is often a misconception that electric vehicles are
slower than gasoline-powered cars, and nothing can be further from the truth.
While these vehicles often do not come with the conventional internal
combustion engine, they are still capable of the same speeds, horsepower, and
acceleration. In fact, electric cars do not require gear shifting, which means
that acceleration and braking run more smoothly.
4. Stylish Design
Today’s electric cars are every bit as stylish as their gasoline-powered
counterparts. While most people have the misconception that these vehicles are
small and boxy golf carts, vehicle designs like the Nissan Leaf and the Tesla Roadster have proven them wrong. Those who are thinking of buying
an electric car should not worry about feeling self-conscious because there are
many attractive models that are bound to suit one’s taste. As mentioned, an
electric car and a gasoline-powered car look virtually the same until the hood
is popped.
CONCLUSION
There are many reasons why people choose to go with an electric car
instead of a gasoline-powered vehicle. There are many distinct advantages in
owning an electric car. The first reason often has to do with the vehicle’s
fuel economy, since the idea of never paying for gas again is attractive to
most people. Along with the fact that it performs well on the road, another
advantage is that it is easier and less messy to maintain. For those who are
concerned about their carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, driving an
electric vehicle ensures less pollution. While electric cars may be more costly
than their gas-powered cousins, the government has also instituted a tax rebate
to help encourage people to buy this type of car. This brings it to a price point
that is more affordable. Last but not the least, owning an electric vehicle
gives people opportunity to express personal style. While there have been many
conceptual designs in the last decade, electric vehicles come in many stylish
designs that many people enjoy.
The Advantage and Disadvantage of Green Computing/ Technology
THE ADVANTAGES
INFLUENCE OF GREEN COMPUTING / TECHNOLOGY
One of the important factors for environmental
pollution is the disposal of waste. Green technology has answers to that as
well. It can effectively change waste pattern and production in a way that it
does not harm the planet and we can go green.
Side effect disposal is the risk for health is the second
factor why we must use green computing / technology, a silent threat is seeping
into our water, soil and air. Carcinogens, dioxins and heavy metals are being
consumed by both animals and humans and if exposed for long periods of time,
these metals can cause damage mental or internal harming of the liver, lungs
and kidneys.
This threat is not biological in nature, rather, it is
something that we have brought into our lives and are using with increased
dependency. The problem stems from electronic waste (E-waste) and comes from
irresponsibly discarded mobile phones, computers and entertainment devices and
more that leaves not only our health vulnerable but the private information and
security of companies and individuals too. By that, green computing /
technology must be adopt to prevent this both side effect factors.
THE DISADVANTAGES OF GREEN COMPUTING / TECHNOLOGY
Disadvantages
could appear but many
people seem to think that
there are more advantages and they weigh out any potential disadvantages. One disadvantage is that green
computing could actually be
quite costly. Given that there has been a green process that the
computer will have gone through in order to make the computer in the first
place, there will usually be
some kind of added cost when the computer has been finished. Green computing takes a lot of new technology, and
hence, you may find that you will have to pay a premium price for your new
green computer.
A perfect example is that the greenest modern computers today are Macbooks and Macbook Pros. These computers are hardly inexpensive - they're actually some of the most expensive computers in the market.
Furthermore, some computers that are green may be considerably underpowered. Some people may need incredibly power-consuming and powerful computers to deal with the tasks that they need them to do. This is another disadvantage that many people who have high-powered computers believe to have with green computers.
Another issue would be that powerful and green computers are more expensive. For instance, Apple's powerful range of computers, including their iMacs, are incredibly green but are also incredibly expensive.

GREEN TECHNOLOGY IN MALAYSIA - WASTE TO ENERGY IN MALAYSIA
INTRODUCTION
Energy-from-Waste (EfW or waste-to-energy)
facilities offer a safe, technologically advanced means of waste disposal while
also generating clean, renewable energy, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and
supporting recycling through the recovery of metals. The consumption habits of
modern consumer lifestyles are causing a huge worldwide waste problem. This is
having a devastating impact on ecosystems and cultures throughout the world.
Some alternative energy companies are developing new ways to recycle waste by
generating electricity from landfill waste and pollution. There is incineration
process in which solid waste is converted into thermal energy to generate steam
that drives turbines for electricity generators.
The term “waste to energy” has
traditionally referred to the practice of incineration of garbage. Today, a new
generation of waste-to-energy technologies is emerging which hold the potential
to create renewable energy from waste matter, including municipal solid waste,
industrial waste, agricultural waste, and waste byproducts. The main categories
of waste-to-energy technologies are physical technologies, which process waste
to make it more useful as fuel; thermal technologies, which can yield heat,
fuel oil, or syngas from both organic and inorganic wastes; and biological technologies,
in which bacterial fermentation is used to digest organic wastes to yield fuel.
Malaysia is a multicultural
smorgasbord of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and British influences. This fusion of
different cultures has helped to promote an entrepreneurial economy that
embraces modern development. To meet the electrical needs of this dynamic
country, the private sector is turning to new generation technologies.
Commissioned in 2009, Kajang Waste-to-Energy Plant, which is located
approximately 13 miles from the national capital Kuala Lumpur, is an example of
such innovation. The waste-to-energy (WTE) facility consists of the
refuse-derived fuel (RDF) plant, which prepares the fuel, and the steam power
plant. The facility has the capacity to process approximately 1,100 U.S. tons
of municipal solid waste (MSW) per day into RDF in fluff form and then use that
fuel to produce approximately 8 MW of electricity daily. Electricity produced
powers the RDF plant, and the remainder is sold to the national power grid.
Furthermore, at Banting, Selangor
also was launched Malaysia's first
Waste-to-Energy plant at Genting Sanyen Industrial Papaer Sdn Bhd (GSIP) at its
Industrial Complex. This project is a result of the cooperation programme
between the governments of Japan and Malaysia under the Green Aid Plan or GAP,
initiated by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The programme
aims to assist developing countries address the growing environmental problem
yet sustaining economic growth through transfer of Japanese ‘clean’ technology.
GSIP was selected and awarded a grant for this model project.
DISADVANTAGE OF WASTE-TO-ENERGY
The
advantages of waste-to-energy are the majority of waste that would
normally go into landfill sites that can be re-used. The fuel is obtainable
cheaply and there will always be a reliable source of fuel as people will
always have waste. Moreover, there is no extensive preparation of waste
material is required and the facility is adaptable to changes in the mix of
waste material. The municipal waste is a non fossil fuel. Recovery of energy
from this source by EfW means that less fossil fuels such as coal, gas and oil
need to be burned. It is to preserving this limited resource for future
generations.
It makes a
lot of sense using waste-to-energy. However, it's worth considering the
disadvantages too. The disadvantages of the waste-to-energy are the public at large is still
unconvinced that emissions from waste-to-energy plants are clean and free from
harmful chemicals. Other than that, waste-to-energy facilities also are
expensive to construct.
CONCLUSION
As a conclusion, energy can be derived from waste that has been treated
and pressed into solid fuel, waste that has been converted into biogas or
syngas, or heat and steam from waste that has been incinerated. Waste-to-energy
technologies that produce fuels are referred to as waste-to-fuel technologies.
Advanced waste-to-energy technologies can be used to produce biogas (methane
and carbon dioxide), syngas (hydrogen and carbon monoxide), liquid biofuels
(ethanol and biodiesel), or pure hydrogen. These fuels can then be converted
into electricity.

GREEN COMPUTING IN MALAYSIA - MODENAS
ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE BY MODENAS
INTRODUCTION
In 16 Jun 2011, Motor dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd.
(MODENAS) has launched the motorcycle powered by electric power without fuel.
This motorcycle built with electrical system that using battery type of lead
acid and nano gel that is eco-friendly. This is the first of the motorcycle
with generate by electric power by MODENAS in Malaysia. The motorcycle is known
as Modenas CTric, this motorcycle is produce by MODENAS engineers and the installation
part factory at Kawasan Perusahaan Gurun, Kedah Darul Aman. By this product
also, this country get one of revolution not in just automotive sector but it
is also in green technology in Malaysia. Modenas CTric also is the one of the
electric motorcycle in Malaysia that get SIRIM qualification standard and JPJ
(Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan) electric transport permission and registration by
Road Transport Act 1987 in December 2010 in parliament Malaysia says Datuk Seri
Kong Cho Ha (Minister of Transport).
FACTORS
The factors that influence the using of electric
motorcycle mission to protect the environment, by that this motorcycle has less
emission of carbon dioxide rather than others type of motorcycle that using oil
as a fuel. The second factor that implemented the using this motorcycle is to
save the energy source, as we know now days the oil is become less year by
years. So by using this motorcycle it will use the battery 1200Wh with five
units that allow the user to charging the battery if the battery is empty for
long term, this is the innovation of one of idea green technology.
BENEFIT
/ ADVANTAGE
The benefit of using motorcycle Modenas CTric is too
much, Modenas CTric is it generated fully by the battery that contain lead acid
and nano gel. The estimate charging for this motorcycle also have the fast
duration rather that others type of electric transport. From Modenas web page,
Modenas has give information that the duration for charging this CTric
motorcycle in fast mode is 3.5hours, and the normal charging usually is 8hours.
This motorcycle is known as moped motorcycle because
the power of speed is 70 kilometers per hours, this is the advantage of using
electric motorcycle because it has higher capacity speed same as others moped
fuel motorcycle such as Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha brands. The green technology
that Modenas implemented in this motorcycle also, it give the bikers saving of
money by 1 cent per one kilometers. Modenas also give out information that the
battery has the reliability of battery performance that it can take up 500
times cycle charging. Modenas CTric motorcycle battery also can be recycle 100%
after the end of life expectancy.
CONCLUSION
As the conclusion is, Modenas had make a new
improvement in their automotive sector by launched electric motorcycle.
Furthermore, Modenas must take action by doing a R&D to make this Modenas
electric motorcycle more range using in Malaysia country by prevent the lack of
electric source provider and the life expectancy of part of vehicle.
